Mediasite, Kansas State University’s centrally supported video platform, continues evolving to meet today’s learners’ needs. After the fall 2022 semester, the Division of Information Technology will update Mediasite, which features a new Premier Player interface.
The new Premier Player will have:
- Faster video load times
- Full-screen capable display
- Improved accessibility controls
- 360-degree video playback
Due to this product evolution, the Publish To Go feature will be removed from Mediasite once this update is applied. This is because it will be incompatible with the new player technology and will no longer be available. Publish To Go is a delivery method that allows Mediasite presentations to be downloaded as a .zip file and viewed offline through a computer’s web browser.
If you currently use Publish To Go within Mediasite, you are encouraged to Explore options for downloading your Mediasite presentation and adjust your practices to prepare for the feature’s removal. Two other downloadable formats will remain available in Mediasite:
- Podcast – an audio-only MP3 file of your Mediasite presentation
- Vodcast (video podcast) – an MP4 video file of your Mediasite presentation
