by Information Technology Services
The busiest summer on record for Information Technology Services continues to remain that way. Adding to our list are these projects (more details below).
- Qualtrics online survey tool replacing Axio Survey
- Pulse, a single university-wide events calendar being beta-released
- Selective Scholarship updates
- Canvas learning management system pre-pilot evaluation
- Affirmative Action Appendix 22 Self-Identify updates
Qualtrics replacing Axio Survey – Qualtrics online survey tool replaced the in-house-developed Axio Survey tool. Qualtrics offers about 100 question types, advanced reporting tools and more. To access it, visit survey.ksu.edu and sign in with your eID and password. Roundtables and other sessions will be available in the new academic year to reintroduce the campus to Qualtrics. survey.ksu.edu
On July 20, the ability to create surveys in Axio Survey was disabled. Users of Axio Survey can continue to review reports and export results until Dec 31. Axio Survey tool will no longer be available Jan. 1, 2014.
Pulse – Pulse, a single university-wide events calendar that is integrated with K-State’s content management system, was initially released to the Division of Communications and Marketing in June. This version included an interface for event entry and management. Information Technology Services will continue to incrementally advance and release Pulse through the summer and fall.
Selective Scholarship updates – ITS is working with New Student Services and the Office of Admissions on several enhancements to scholarship applications. The goals are to decrease support calls from applicants and their references, and to improve the process of reviewing scholarship applications and selecting awardees.
Canvas – ITS is conducting a pre-pilot evaluation of this learning management system over the summer. Canvas allows for tighter integration with the iSIS student information system for automatic course creation, roster population, and instructor provisioning. A fall pilot of Canvas is planned for approximately 400 faculty and students using real courses and data. Pilot details will be forthcoming.
Affirmative Action Appendix 22 Self-Identify updates – ITS is working with the Office of Affirmative Action to develop reports that will assist the university in its ongoing diversity efforts. This tool also will help streamline the hiring process at K-State.
