K-State uses IP-based geolocation to determine the country or city from which a device accesses its services and resources. This information is crucial for detecting and preventing potential cyber threats. K-State uses this data solely to analyze typical login patterns for your account and assess the safety of new login attempts.
You may already be familiar with geolocation through online banking, video streaming and gaming services. Geolocation technology is also known as geopositioning, geo-tracking and geolocalization.
