OrgCentral Transition: Organizations encouraged to make note of forms, events, and news posts

In preparation for the upgrade of OrgCentral, the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) is encouraging organizations to review, capture, and store information from forms, events, and news posts by Dec. 3. These items will not be transferred and will need to be re-created in the new platform. After Dec. 3, organizations will no longer have access to their forms, events, and news posts.

Watch the following video to learn how to access news, events, documents, and forms in OrgCentral:

Reminder:

  • Organizations need to ensure they have completed the annual registration process.
  • Only those groups that have completed their registration for the current academic year will have their rosters and Organizational about pages transitioned.
  • Groups can check their registration status via this dashboard.
  • Documents, photos, videos, or other files will not be transferred to the new platform and will need to be downloaded if you want to retain them.

Questions about registration status or requirements can be directed to Ashley Douglas (aldouglass@ksu.edu). You can keep up with all announcements and get access to training videos via our OrgCentral Help page.

OrgCentral Transition: Download documents, photos, videos, or other files

In preparation for the upgrade of OrgCentral, the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) is encouraging organizations to download any documents, photos, videos, or other files that they want to retain. These files will not be automatically transferred. Organizations need to save these files and reupload them once the upgraded system is in place. Documentation and training on how to upload files to the new platform will be available when the new system is in place.

This is a good opportunity to clean up and organize group files which are on OrgCentral or in other locations (shared folders, Google drives, flash drives, etc.). The new platform will have dynamic document storage capabilities which will aid organizations in organizing and managing their many document/file storage needs.

Watch the video below to learn how to download documents from OrgCental. Continue reading “OrgCentral Transition: Download documents, photos, videos, or other files”

OrgCentral Transition: Organization leaders asked to update rosters and portal information

On Sept. 30, the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) announced that the back-end technology for the student organization management platform (OrgCentral) for K-State is being replaced.

Organizations are encouraged to update their rosters and about pages in their current OrgCentral portals. Rosters and the Organization portal (about page) information will be automatically transferred into the new system. Organization leaders and advisors need to ensure everything is up-to-date by doing the following:

  • Remove people from a roster that are no longer members
  • Add people to the roster that are missing
  • Assign leadership roles to officers and advisors
  • Update the about sections of your profile

Watch the following video to learn how to update your roster: Continue reading “OrgCentral Transition: Organization leaders asked to update rosters and portal information”

OrgCentral (student organization management platform) being replaced

The Center for Student Involvement (CSI) is replacing the back-end technology for the student organization management platform (OrgCentral) for K-State. This transition will allow for a more robust, feature-rich system for student organization and student engagement. Maintaining the current product branding and “OrgCentral” name was recommended by leaders in the marketing department, students, and leaders in student organizations.

The goal is to make the new platform available to the campus community on Nov. 8. The CSI will continue to be the primary administrative unit for the program.

Organizations will need to ensure they have completed the annual OrgCentral registration process. Only those groups that have completed their registration for the current academic year by Nov. 1 will have their portal information transitioned.

Groups can check their registration status via the Registration Progress Report. Organization leaders, advisors, and sponsoring departments should continue to monitor K-State Today, the CSI Update eNewsletter, and social media (CSI Twitter, CSI Instagram, SGA Twitter, SGA Instagram) for updates on how to get prepared for the transition.

Questions about registration status or requirements can be directed to Ashley Douglas (aldouglass@ksu.edu).
