K-State upgrading KSIS and HRIS systems

""On September 20, the Division of Information Technology will upgrade HRIS and KSIS to PeopleTools 8.60. Upgrades are an important part of the university’s operations and tie into our strategic objective of maintaining operational excellence and improving the overall student and employee experience. Users will notice several enhancements, including:
  • Fresh Look: updated and modernized layout.
  • Improved Search: search options are now global and customizable.
  • Behind-the-Scenes Updates: improvements in system management, integration, security, and privacy.
The project team includes staff from Admissions, Budget Office, Financial Aid, Graduate School, Human Resources, Information Technology, Registrar’s Office, and Student Financials. The team has been engaged in testing across the HRIS and KSIS systems.

ITS update

UpdatesMany of the top 10 Information Technology Services (ITS) projects are related to relieving technical debt, where ITS is replacing and retiring outdated equipment associated with the converged infrastructure. Other projects include:

  • Duo multi-factor authentication Initiative
  • Update and migrate to a new automation infrastructure (CHEF)
  • Data warehouse for financial information
  • HRIS Peoplesoft application upgrade to 9.2
  • Improve the process of software acquisition, customer relationship management and managing the request forms/tasks
