Free classes on Dreamweaver, iMovie, Photoshop, Premiere, ProTools, Vegas Pro

Faculty/staff and students are invited to participate in these hands-on classes that are offered each semester by the Media Development Center. Enrollment is not needed; just stop by 213 Hale Library at the times and dates below.  Most sessions are offered on two dates for the convenience of the K-State community. Spotlight: Starting a Digital Entomology Lab at K-State

C. Mike Smith, professor in the Department of Entomology, has been working with a small team to create the foundational photos for a Digital Entomology Lab, which will enhance learning in online entomology courses and which may also serve as a stand-alone digital laboratory resource.

The following slideshow highlights some of the initial work. This shows how different types of equipment, software, and processes inform the development work.

Free multimedia mini-classes: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, ProTools, iMovie

The following free, one-hour classes are scheduled this fall in the Media Development Center (MDC) in 213 Hale Library. Classes are open to all K-Staters, and no registration is needed. Most topics are offered on two dates to afford K-Staters more opportunities to attend.

Intro to Photoshop — 6-7 p.m. — Oct. 24 (Sun), Nov. 14 (Sun)
This class will help patrons understand the basics of Adobe Photoshop.

Introduction to iMovie — 6:30-7:30 p.m. — Oct. 25 (Mon), Nov. 29 (Mon)
This class will teach the basics of video editing using iMovie HD.

Adobe announces CS4

On September 23, 2008 Adobe announced the upcoming release of Creative Suite 4 (CS4) family of products, which is exptected to begin shipping at the end of October.

Among the products available will be Design Standard CS4, Design Premium CS4, Web Standard CS4, Web Premium CS4, Production Premium CS4, and Master Collection CS4, as well as a number of individual titles.
