Spotlight: Pixenate.com, a photo-editing tool

Check out pixenate.com, a simple, web-based photo editor. How does it work?

  1. Upload your photo to the website.
  2. Edit using any one of a number of photo-editing tools, including cropping, color balance, resize, rotate, and more.
  3. The edited photo can be saved or uploaded to a website such as Flickr.

K-State technology seminars cover tools, tips, and resources

“Free Tools That Rule” is a joint session that kicks off K-State’s IDT Roundtable and TechBytes series this semester. Join us 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, in Union 212 to learn about many of the free tools available on the Web. The session will feature tools that can be used for:

  • Collaboration
  • Research
  • Screen recording (video) and screen capturing (screenshots)
  • and more

Bring your favorite tools to share during the session.

Free, used computers and more available to departments

iTAC is in the process of removing some hardware from university computing labs, technology classrooms, and other offices around campus — and making the equipment available to interested K-State units. Some of the equipment is in working order, some is not. All equipment is available at no cost to the receiving units.


K-Staters are invited to browse the equipment through 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 1. Contact Tim Bagby (785-532-4919, tbagby@k-state.edu) to set up a date/time or stop by the IT Help Desk (214 Hale Library) to ask for a viewing. The equipment includes:

Free holiday music downloads

If you’re looking for an easy way to spread some holiday cheer, check out the following links.

  • The iTunes Holiday Sampler is a selection of 20 seasonal songs from various artists available free for download.
  • Amazon 25 Days of Free is an offering from Amazon.com, where each day in December they add a new free song for you to download. All of the current songs are available here. Enjoy!

Distance-ed giveaway site offers more free downloads
