Amara, a free and easy way to caption video

Amara is a free and easy-to-use video captioning and translation service. Captioning video makes videos accessible for the hearing-impaired and improves the video’s search results.  In addition to captioning video, you can also translate it into other languages.

Oftentimes, captioning and/or translating video is very time-consuming. Amara has made the task virtually pain-free.

The process includes:

  • Submit the URL of the video you want to capture or translate (Amara works with many video sites such as YouTube, Vimeo, Blip.TV, USstream, and more.)
  • Type subtitles as the video is playing
  • Sync the video with the subtitles
  • Use the embed code to share your captioned or translated video

Start making the world of video more accessible today by using Amara. Check out the video to see how the service works.
