Zoom is a video and web-conferencing tool that allows for video, audio, and content sharing. In addition, K-State students, faculty, and staff can use Zoom for online meetings and group gatherings.
Zoom Features
- Participants — By default, 300 participants are allowed during a Zoom session. The option to request 500 participants is available.
- Chat — In real-time, chat with individual or group participants.
- Share Screen — Allows meeting participants to share their computer screen with others in the Zoom meeting.
- Record — Both video and audio recordings can be made of Zoom meetings. All Zoom cloud recordings will be deleted from Zoom cloud storage 180 days from the date of creation.
- Audio Transcription — Audio transcription automatically transcribes the audio of a meeting that you record to the cloud. You have the option to display the transcript text within the video itself, similar to a closed caption display.
- Breakout Rooms — Breakout rooms allow you to split your Zoom meeting up to 50 separate sessions. The meeting host can choose to split the meeting participants into these separate sessions automatically or manually or allow participants to select and enter breakout sessions as they please.
