UFM technology classes for fall 2014: iPads, computers, Adobe, photography

Low-cost classes on iPads, computers, Adobe Lightroom, and digital photography are available to K-Staters from the UFM Community Learning Center.

Clearance sale on Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 software at computer store

K-Staters can save $20-$70 on Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 software during the clearance sale now going on at the K-State Student Union Computer Store. Lower prices on Adobe CS 5.5 products are being offered through the computer store due to Adobe’s release of CS 6, which is now in stock.

Free Adobe seminar March 12 for faculty/staff

As part of the Teaching, Learning, and Technology Showcase scheduled in March, Adobe representatives will provide a complimentary training seminar the afternoon of Monday, March 12. This event has been moved to the day before the showcase in order to provide a larger timeslot for the Adobe presentations.

Topics being considered include:

  • Acrobat
  • ePublication and Digital Publishing with Adobe InDesign
  • Mobile content delivery
  • What’s new in Creative Suite 5.5

Microsoft, Adobe products added to Student Select program

New Microsoft and Adobe software titles have been added to the K-State Student Select Software program available at the K-State Student Union Computer StoreTo see programs included in each title, a printable price list, and FAQs, see the Student Select PDF.

All titles require a current K-State ID for purchasing and are available to faculty/staff, students, and emeriti. Distance students, employees of local agencies (K-State Student Union, Athletics, Foundation, etc.), and satellite campuses and workplaces (i.e. Extension) are included. Alumni and employees of K-State affiliates are not eligible.

All titles are limited to “1 user – 2 computers” and licensing terms state they are for your own personal educational use, and not for resale.  All titles are distributed on a CD/DVD and each package includes its own unique activation key.

Adobe announces CS4

On September 23, 2008 Adobe announced the upcoming release of Creative Suite 4 (CS4) family of products, which is exptected to begin shipping at the end of October.

Among the products available will be Design Standard CS4, Design Premium CS4, Web Standard CS4, Web Premium CS4, Production Premium CS4, and Master Collection CS4, as well as a number of individual titles.
