CRM listening tours

Last year, our university began a mission to rethink our enrollment strategies and develop an effective foundation to grow enrollment while also promoting student success now and in the future. As a result, the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Plan was developed.

The plan includes seven key themes with associated observations, goals, and actionable, prioritized strategies that are essential to boosting enrollment and student success. Data, Technology, and Systems is a critical enabler and foundational element that K-State must address and continue to monitor, assess, and enhance on an ongoing basis. Campuswide site license for digital signage

Information Technology Services under the direction of Ken Stafford, CIO, has purchased a campuswide license from Four Winds Interactive for digital signage encompassing the Manhattan, Olathe, and Salina campuses.

A steering committee composed of individuals from across campus is planning the rollout of digital signage that includes a pilot test, recommendations on hardware, templates, policies/procedures that are important for digital signage use, and emergency management considerations.

H1N1 contingency plans for instructors include alternative technology use

A quick reference guide with suggestions for alternatives to face-to-face lectures, homework, class discussions and more is available online at www.k-state.edu/infotech/helpdesk/contingencyplan.pdf (PDF) . The document was prepared by iTAC to assist faculty with alternatives should class disruptions occur due to the H1N1 flu virus.

NIST publishes server security guidelines

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently finalized a publication that provides an excellent overview of server security.
