Zoom: New Meeting Join Flow coming May 20

On May 20, the new Meeting Join Flow feature will be enabled in Zoom. Meeting Join Flow streamlines the user experience of joining a meeting. Currently, you see up to three separate dialogue windows during the join flow: Please wait for the host to join, the video preview window, and the Waiting Room. Among these improvements, the functionality of the first “waiting for host” window is combined with the third Waiting Room window.

What do I need to do?

Nothing. If you use Zoom version 5.12.0 or higher, you will automatically have access to this new feature on May 20. If you are using an older version of Zoom, you will want to update to the latest version.

All previously scheduled meetings will be automatically updated to the new join flow and maintain the equivalent security settings. There should be no impact on each meeting’s settings, the meeting link, and participants’ ability to join these meetings.

View the Meeting Join Flow FAQ to learn more about this new feature.

Note: This change was initially scheduled for April 22 but was changed to May 20.
