As recovery efforts continue in Information Technology Services following the Hale Library fire, a recent external assessment of the Data Center shows that conditions of the equipment and facility continue to deteriorate.
While ITS staff has focused on restoring and recovering services, our efforts are now shifting to planning for an updated information technology infrastructure, which includes the data center, updated enterprise systems, services in the cloud versus on premise, networking and more.
Given the assessment, the timeline to move services from the Data Center to alternative options is now shortened. For example, HRIS was moved to a cloud-based service after the fire and will remain a cloud-based service.
Progress on the Data Center transition will be shared with the K-State community through the ITS recovery website.
