New Gradebook activated in Canvas
Reminder: new Canvas Gradebook coming Dec. 29
The Canvas Gradebook will be automatically updated to the New Gradebook for January Intersession, spring 2020, and all future courses on Sun., Dec. 29. Instructors do not need to manually turn on the New Gradebook.
The New Gradebook offers several enhanced features, including:
- A better user experience addressing user-suggested improvements
- Support for flexible late/missing assignment policies
- New Grade Posting Policy options that replace the idea of ‘muting’ an assignment
- Improved organization options, communication, grading workflow enhancements, and accessibility support

Copy final grades to KSIS process has been updated
Instructors can copy their final grades from Canvas to KSIS with the Copy Grades to KSIS tool located in the left-hand navigation of each course in Canvas.
The Copy Grades to KSIS process has been updated to remove the ‘Muted’ assignments step. Canvas is changing the assignment management policy. Muting will be replaced by Grade Post Policies. Continue reading “Copy final grades to KSIS process has been updated”

Canvas: November updates
On Sun., Dec. 29, the New Gradebook will be activated in Canvas, and the old Gradebook will no longer be available. The New Gradebook offers several enhanced features, including:
- A better user experience addressing user-suggested improvements
- Support for flexible late/missing assignment policies
- Improved organization options, communication, grading workflow enhancements, and accessibility support

New Gradebook deactivated in Canvas
On Mon., Aug. 19, the New Gradebook was activated in Canvas. Unfortunately, Canvas bugs have been discovered that do not allow the Copy Grades to KSIS or Scantron tools to work optimally with the New Gradebook. The decision has been made to return to the previous Gradebook until those bugs have been fixed. All courses in Canvas for fall 2019 were reverted to the Old Gradebook on Thurs., Aug. 22.
