Shred Day is this morning on Manhattan and Salina campuses
K-State Shred Day is 8:30-11 a.m. today, Oct. 14, on the Manhattan and Salina campuses. K-State departments that need to securely dispose of paper documents with personal identity data (Social Security numbers, birth dates, credit card numbers, etc.) can deliver materials in designated bags or boxes to Mid-Campus Drive near the K-State Student Union on the Manhattan campus. On the Salina campus, go to the loading area between the east and west wings of the Technology Center.

Today, July 15, is Shred Day for securely destroying paper documents
This morning, K-State departments can take their paper records to the following locations for secure shredding at the following times on the Manhattan and Salina campuses:
- Manhattan campus: 8:30-10:30 a.m. outside the K-State Student Union, east side
- Salina campus: 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the Technology Center loading area, between the east/west wings

The Information Technology Assistance Center is hosting Shred Day 8:30-10:30 am. Tuesday, July 15, on the K-State Manhattan campus (Information Systems is hosting on the Salina campus). Only one week left to collect paper for K-State Shred Day Oct. 16
K-State departments have about a week to finish collecting papers with sensitive data for free, secure shredding on K-State Shred Day, 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, on the Manhattan campus and 10 – noon on the Salina campuse. This event is “paper only” — electronic media will not be collected, and wet or contaminated paper will not be accepted. See below for dropoff, prior pickup, and required forms for each campus.
The goal of this event each semester is to protect individuals and the university by securely disposing of documents with sensitive information — credit card data, personal identity details, personnel files, Scantron forms, grade sheets, class rosters, and so on. University Shred Day in full swing today
K-State’s All University Shred Day on the K-State-Manhattan campus is in “full-shred ahead” mode today. As of 10 a.m., 73 boxes and seven large bags of security-related materials for shredding have already been dropped off by departments and/or picked up by iTAC staff. The event runs until 4 p.m. today (Tue, Oct. 19) on the K-State-Manhattan campus, at two locations — Mid Campus Drive near the Union, and the Dole Hall parking lots.
Free document shredding April 18 in Manhattan
A free “Shred Day” is being offered by Document Resources Inc. 9-11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at 414 South 5th St. in Manhattan, so people can bring their personal paper documents from home and have them shredded at no charge. This is a great opportunity to do some spring cleaning and safely get rid of obsolete documents with sensitive information, such as:
- Bank statements and canceled/duplicate checks
- Credit-card statements and receipts
- Medical records
- Paycheck stubs
