KSIS 9.2 upgrade completed

by Information Technology Services

Information Technology Services, or ITS, has successfully completed the KSIS upgrade to version 9.2. The upgrade represents K-State’s ongoing investment to provide the K-State community with the most complete, flexible and innovative student information system available.

“The KSIS upgrade has been a significant effort for ITS this year and represents a big step forward for our enterprise applications,” said Rob Caffey, interim chief information officer for Information Technology Services.

KSIS users logging in July 24 will immediately notice the dramatically improved homepage and new navigation. The 9.2 release has a graphical, responsive web design that is mobile-friendly for use with iOS and Android devices. It also provides a foundation for future enhancements, including improved search capabilities and additional mobile-friendly pages for students, faculty and staff.

“Upgrading a student information system is always a monumental undertaking,” said Diana Blake, project manager and associate director of the Information Systems Office. “Very few schools accomplish a project of this magnitude without a budget or the expertise of external consultants, but our team did. The learning curve was steep, but our team of smart, experienced, and dedicated functional and technical professionals worked exceedingly well together to complete the upgrade on time, on budget, and with high quality. I hope K-State students, faculty, and staff enjoy the new features KSIS 9.2 has to offer.”
