Fort Hays State University is hosting the Conference on Higher Education Computing in Kansas (CHECK) Wednesday-Thursday, May 26-27, in Hays. Online registration is available at www.check.gen.ks.us, where you can also find the conference agenda, presentation abstracts, lodging, and additional conference information.
This year’s registration fee is $35 and covers two meals, continental breakfast, refreshments, and all conference items. The early registration deadline is May 12.

Today at 5 p.m. is the deadline to submit grades in iSIS. The deadline to copy grades from K-State Online to iSIS is 4 p.m. today, Dec. 22. Students will be able to view grades in iSIS on Dec. 23.

Tired of trying to point your friends to that one picture on Facebook, or that great blog post with the ridiculously long URL (web address)? There’s a solution out there for you. Many websites have started offering URL shortening services. What is URL shortening?
Imagine you want to point someone to an article in InfoTech Tuesday and the article’s URL is itnews.itac.k-state.edu/2009/07/simplify-internet-browsing-by-using-tabs/ . Obviously, that URL is too long and difficult to dictate to someone. What if, instead of that gargantuan URL, you could give them tinyurl.com/muzhwa or bit.ly/3WASwn?
