Reminder: TeamDynamix is coming June 6

On June 6, the Division of Information Technology will begin using TeamDynamix to transform the IT experience at K-State. TeamDynamix is a cloud-based platform that K-State will be using to manage enterprise-level IT service management, projects, and portfolios. 

With TeamDynamix in place, K-Staters will have a more user-friendly, cohesive experience while searching for information or requesting help from IT.  You may notice changes in the following areas: IT Website, IT Knowledge Base, and IT Service Desk (formerly IT Help Desk). Records and Information Management Month: Emails

As part of Records and Information Management Month, the Division of Information Technology and K-State Libraries are sharing information about various topics related to records and information management. This week’s focus is on email records.

Every K-State employee is individually responsible for handling and maintaining records (including University email and other electronic records) under University policy and requirements. Emails are records that may contain evidence of official University actions, decisions, approvals, or transactions. Therefore, email is subject to the State of Kansas statutes, KSA 45-401 through 45-414, which apply to preserving and destroying records. Records and Information Management Month: Data storage guidelines

As part of Records and Information Management Month, the Division of Information Technology and K-State Libraries are sharing information about various topics related to records and information management. This week’s focus is on email records.

Technically Speaking: Data Warehouse Update

Technically Speaking is a new video series from the Division of Information Technology. The video series will update the K-State Community on new tools, projects, and services available through IT.

In this episode of Technically Speaking, learn about K-State’s Data Warehouse Project. Jan Elsasser, the Deputy CIO for BI, Analytics, Enterprise Applications, and Project Management, will explain the project and provide a status update.

Microsoft Power BI upgrade on Feb. 18

Microsoft is upgrading the Power BI Premium environment to Power BI Premium Generation 2. The BI Team has scheduled this upgrade from 10-11 p.m. on Friday, February 18.

This upgrade only affects reports for Power BI Premium users, representing seven groups: Ag Research, Institutional Research, Assessment, Housing and Dining, Division of Financial Services, Research, and K-State Salina. Before the upgrade, the BI Team will contact each Power BI Premium user group to know what to expect and ensure a smooth transition.

All other Power BI users will be unaffected by this upgrade. If you have questions concerning the upgrade, please email biadmin@ksu.edu for assistance.
