Zoom training sessions available on campus

Information Technology Services is offering training sessions on Zoom, a high-definition video and audio conferencing tool that is available to all K-State students, faculty, and staff. Computer-bundle sales start June 3 at Union Computer Store

Zoom video conferencing tool now available to all students, faculty, and staff

Zoom, for HD video and audio conferencing and screen sharing, is now available to all K-State students, faculty and staff. Zoom can be used from any PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, Android device, or phone line and will soon include H.323 and SIP participants to leverage existing legacy devices including Polycom, Tandberg, LifeSize, and others. Video conferencing tool Zoom available for testing

Video Conferencing Services is currently testing Zoom (zoom.us), a simple-to-use video conferencing tool that provides HD quality audio and video for up to 25 simultaneous PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, and/or Android device connections. Zoom features include screen sharing from PC, Mac, iPad, and iPhone users; recording and playback of meetings; host control of participants; and instant messaging in meetings.

Zoom will be at the ITL conference March 4-5 in the K-State Student Union. A workshop is scheduled Monday afternoon, and a demonstration booth will be at the showcase Tuesday.  Continue reading “Video conferencing tool Zoom available for testing”

Wunderlist is a wonderful to-do app

Wunderlist is a neat, free to-do solution that is available for iOS, Android, Windows and Mac OS X computers and devices through native apps as well as any device with a web browser. With the independent-platform approach, Wunderlist is one of the more flexible solutions available to those looking for a simple yet robust to-do list solution. A little Caffeine for your Mac (so it doesn’t go to sleep)

Have you ever wanted to make sure that your Mac would not go to sleep on you during a presentation or in the middle of watching a webcast? A neat little free tool is available in the Mac App Store that does just that. New ETDR videos for Word for Mac 2011 users

QSR International’s Stacy Penna to present on “Using NVivo as a Research Tool”

Researchers, faculty, and graduate students are invited to a complimentary presentation on “Using NVivo as a Research Tool” 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18 (CST).  This tool enables qualitative and mixed-methods research.  The presenter, Stacy Penna, is the business development manager at QSR International (Americas) Inc., who wrote her dissertation using NVivo.
