Mediasite’s Publish To Go feature to be removed over winter break

Mediasite, Kansas State University’s centrally supported video platform, continues evolving to meet today’s learners’ needs. After the fall 2022 semester, the Division of Information Technology will update Mediasite, which features a new Premier Player interface.

The new Premier Player will have:

  • Faster video load times
  • Full-screen capable display
  • Improved accessibility controls
  • 360-degree video playback

Due to this product evolution, the Publish To Go feature will be removed from Mediasite once this update is applied. This is because it will be incompatible with the new player technology and will no longer be available. Publish To Go is a delivery method that allows Mediasite presentations to be downloaded as a .zip file and viewed offline through a computer’s web browser. Time to upgrade your Zoom

On Saturday, August 6, Zoom will retire older versions of its app. You will need to upgrade if you use Zoom version 5.3.0 or below.

If you are unsure what version of Zoom you are using, view these step-by-step instructions on how to view your Zoom version.

To check for updates and to update your Zoom app for Windows, macOS, or Linux:

  1. Open and sign in to the Zoom desktop app using the K-State SSO option.
  2. Click your profile picture in the upper right of the application, then select Check for Updates in the menu.

HRIS,KSIS, and DARS upgrade is complete

The HRIS, KSIS, and DARS upgrade that took place over the weekend is complete.

The upgrade included many technical and visual improvements to the Homepage tiles and icons.

Upgrading is an essential step toward the Division of Information Technology achieving its goal of providing a modern, scalable network and computing infrastructure for K-State. To learn more, view K-State’s IT Strategic Plan.

Reminder: HRIS, KSIS, and DARS upgrade July 29-31

HRIS, KSIS, and DARS are scheduled to be upgraded starting at 7 p.m. Friday, July 29, through Sunday, July 31. All three systems will be unavailable for use during the upgrade.

The upgrade includes many technical and visual improvements to the Homepage tiles and icons.

Visix is the new digital sign provider for K-State

The Division of Information Technology (IT) has announced that Visix is the new vendor for K-State’s Digital Signage.

K-State uses digital signs to publish news and announcements and promote events and services. Visix was selected as the new vendor because of the user-friendly, browser-based interface, access to templates for controlled formatting, and the ability to support a wide variety of multimedia.
