What version of Microsoft Word or Office is on my computer?

Many people have no idea what version of Microsoft Word or Office they are using. That’s understandable. Who can remember version numbers for every piece of software on their computer?

On a Windows PC, a fast way to identify your version is to open a Word document and compare the small logo at top left to the logo versions below.

Thesis, dissertation ETDR walk-in workshops Oct. 22-Nov. 20

Graduate students and faculty advisers:  ETDR walk-in workshops are scheduled over the next five weeks to provide faster help on Electronic Theses, Dissertations, and Reports before the Graduate School’s Nov. 20 semester deadline. Grad students: Don’t miss ETDR overviews Oct. 3 and Oct. 8

The Graduate School, K-State Libraries, and the Information Technology Assistance Center are offering two overviews this month of the Electronic Theses, Dissertations, and Reports program (ETDR).  Both sessions are in Town Hall of the Leadership Studies Building.

  • Friday, Oct. 3, 10 a.m.-noon
  • Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2-4 p.m.

Graduate students, need help? April 25 deadline to submit theses, dissertations, and reports

Graduate students who plan to graduate this semester must submit their electronic theses, dissertations, or reports (ETDRs) to the K-State Research Exchange (K-REx) repository by 5 p.m. Friday, April 25. Graduate students: Nov. 22 deadline for submitting theses, dissertations, and reports

NVivo 10: Importing and Coding Documents and File Management event Oct. 18

“Importing and Coding Documents and File Management” has been scheduled from 2-4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at 301 Hale Library.  This webinar is the second in a series of customized trainings for K-State on NVivo 10, a qualitative and mixed methods data analysis tool.  The presenter is Cynthia Jacobs of QSR International.

This session will cover the following topics:

  • Importing documents and PDFs
  • Coding strategies

  • Coding using Text Analysis Queries
