“Tapping Social Media with NCapture and NVivo 11” presentation Nov. 20

“Tapping Social Media with NCapture and NVivo 11” will be offered 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, in 401B Hale Library. This presentation provides an overview of the NCapture add-in to NVivo 11 Pro as a tool for extracting information from social media platforms and will explore how the extracted data is analyzed using NVivo 11, a qualitative and mixed methods data analysis tool.  (The NVivo 11 for Mac now has the NCapture functionality.)

New NVivo license key now available

Kansas State University’s new NVivo license key for this year is now available at NVivo 10 Software Download.  The license key is the same one for either NVivo 10 on Windows or Mac.  To access this key, a valid K-State eID and password are required.

“Handling Surveys and Interviews in NVivo” scheduled Jan. 30

“Handling Surveys and Interviews in NVivo” will be offered 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, in 301 Hale Library. This session will focus on the use of NVivo to maximize analysis of surveys and interviews.

“Introduction to NVivo 10” webinar training Sept. 20

The first of a series of trainings on NVivo, a qualitative and mixed methods data analysis tool, will be held 2-4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at 301 Hale Library.  The presenter is Cynthia Jacobs of QSR International.

This interactive presentation will introduce attendees to setting up a project in NVivo and then using the tool to explore the data.  More specifically, this will cover the NVivo workspace; how to create a project; how to import documents (including importation of data through NCapture); how to create memos and annotations; how to identify themes in the data; how to set up data “nodes”; how to apply text analysis tools; and other capabilities (such as using survey data).

NVivo 10 software download and customized online trainings available for K-State faculty/staff and graduate students

Faculty, staff, and graduate students at K-State have a site license for NVivo, a data analysis tool used with qualitative and mixed methods research.  This license gives them free access to this multi-modal data management and analysis tool. Four customized and interactive webinars have been scheduled for Fall Semester 2013.

QSR International’s Stacy Penna to present on “Using NVivo as a Research Tool”

Researchers, faculty, and graduate students are invited to a complimentary presentation on “Using NVivo as a Research Tool” 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18 (CST).  This tool enables qualitative and mixed-methods research.  The presenter, Stacy Penna, is the business development manager at QSR International (Americas) Inc., who wrote her dissertation using NVivo.
