Mar. 27: Tapping Social Media with NCapture and NVivo 12 Plus

“Tapping Social Media Data with NCapture and NVivo 12 Plus” will be offered 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Mar. 27, on Zoom. This presentation provides an overview of the NCapture browser add-on (to Google Chrome and Microsoft IE) as a tool for extracting information from social media platforms and will explore how the extracted data is analyzed using NVivo 12 Plus, a qualitative and mixed methods data analysis tool. (The NVivo for Mac now enables this functionality as well.)

CRM introduction training scheduled for March, April, and May

CRM Introduction Training has been scheduled for March 10, March 24, April 8, April 28, May 6, and May 19. All training sessions will be in Calvin Hall 306, and training will last for 1.5 hours. Training sessions are limited to 20 people per session. You must be enrolled in the session to attend.

To sign up for training, sign in to HRIS.

  1. Under Self Service, choose Learning and Development, then KSU Training Enrollment.
  2. On the Request Training Enrollment page, look for CRM Introduction WIT310.
  3. Select View Available Sessions.
  4. Select the Session you would like to attend.
  5. Select Continue.

Save the date: CRM Town Hall March 2

Save the date now for the sixth CRM Town Hall meeting! The next Town Hall is 3 to 5 p.m., Mon., Mar. 2, in the College of Business Administration, Room 4061.

This Town Hall will have a different format from previous Town Halls. There will be no breakout sessions. The Town Hall will start with a 30-minute CRM project status update, and then the rest of the meeting will be used to demo features of the CRM. Feb. 7: Exploring Microsoft Excel (Basic)

An introductory training for Microsoft Excel is scheduled 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb 7, in 306 Calvin.

About Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel is the foremost spreadsheet program in use today.

It is commonly used to:

  • Conduct calculations
  • Clean data
  • Graph or plot data (to identify data patterns)
  • Create data visualizations (both static and interactive)
  • Apply visual styles to data tables and data visualizations
  • Create interactive data visualizations (interactive pivot tables, interactive
  • dashboards with sliders, and others)
  • Create simple macros for continuing data handling (with Visual Basic programming language)
  • Process data for analytics in other software programs
  • Enable the share-ability of information
  • Access online survey data (in analyze-able format), and more…

CRM Town Hall Dec. 12

Registration opens Mon., Nov. 18, for the fifth CRM Town Hall meeting. The Town Hall is 1 to 3 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 12, in the College of Business Administration, Room 4061.

The Town Hall will start with a 30-minute CRM project status update. This part of the meeting is open to everyone via Zoom and does not require registration. HRIS and KSIS scheduled downtime, Nov. 21 – 24

As part of K-State’s ongoing effort to modernize our IT infrastructure and implement a cloud-first strategy, many of K-State’s systems are moving to the cloud. K-State’s Student Information System (KSIS) will be moving to the cloud, and the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), which is already in the cloud, will be moving to managed services. KSIS and HRIS will be unavailable beginning 7 p.m., Thurs., Nov. 21, and will be back online the evening of Sun., Nov. 24. DARS uAchieve also will be unavailable during this same timeframe.

Nov. 22: Exploring Advanced Features of Qualtrics

“Exploring Advanced Features of Qualtrics” is scheduled 1:30–3:30 p.m. Fri., Nov. 22, in 306 Calvin Hall (a computer lab). All students, faculty, and staff who use this research suite are welcome to attend.

FIS and eForms scheduled downtime, Nov. 15-17

As part of K-State’s ongoing effort to modernize our IT infrastructure and implement a cloud-first strategy, many of K-State’s systems are moving to the cloud.
