Project plan under way to sunset Axio Survey

Information technology services is in the process of developing a project plan to sunset Axio Survey, a survey tool developed by information technology services more than 10 years ago. Updates have been made to the tool since its release in 2001; however, few upgrades and investments have been made in this application over the last five years while information technology services’ programmers work on other enterprise projects. Email upgrade committee analyzing survey results and finalizing report

The email upgrade committee is finalizing its report. The committee has received positive and negative feedback about the survey of email options sent to all Kansas State University faculty, staff and students. One of the purposes of the survey was to educate the campus about the available options. While the timing for the survey was not ideal, the committee’s report is due on Dec. 20. Email upgrade committee hosting calendar function demonstration

The email upgrade committee will have a demonstration of the calendar functions in Google Apps for Education and Microsoft 365 from 1:30-3 p.m. today in the Big 12 Room at the K-State Student Union.

Seth Galitzer, computing and information sciences, and David Williams, housing and dining services, will be presenting the calendar functions. Grade submission deadlines for fall 2012

Database upgrade on Friday, Nov. 23

Several K-State services related to eIDs will be unavailable this from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, during a planned information technology services database upgrade. These services include:

  • eProfile system (eid.k-state.edu)
  • eID registration, including when completing an undergraduate application for admission
  • searching the K-State directory for a specific person
  • PDB Support Tools
  • KEAS Support Tools

Faculty Day at K-State Libraries Nov. 7

K-State Libraries will host Faculty Library Day from 1:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7. All K-State faculty are invited to attend. Concurrent sessions are offered over the course of the afternoon, structured like a conference and led by library and research experts.

All sessions focus on faculty research and technology needs as well as highlight multidisciplinary resources. Participants are welcome to come for just one session, attend several or stay all afternoon. Registration is not required. Third annual Shred Day yields 3.8 tons of paper

The third annual Shred Day, Oct. 16 on the Manhattan and Salina campuses, was a success. Document Resources Inc. collected 7,620 pounds of paper products – about 3.8 tons – from 34 departments.
