VPN users need to switch to GlobalProtect

GlobalProtect logoK-Staters who use AnyConnect as their VPN client need to switch to GlobalProtect. AnyConnect will be retired on November 14.

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows you to remotely access campus resources securely over the internet. By connecting to K-State’s VPN, you assure that the data you transmit or receive will be secure between your computer and K-State.

With GlobalProtect, K-Staters will have a better user experience when using a VPN and no longer need to choose the VPN Group as you did with AnyConnect. When you sign in with your eID and password, you will automatically be placed in the correct group.

GlobalProtect is currently available for both Mac and Windows platforms. GlobalProtect will be available later this year for Linux computers, smartphones, and tablets.

K-State CRM vendor selection in final stage

The Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) search committee would like to thank K-State faculty and staff for providing feedback during the CRM selection process. Over 200 people participated in the 13 Listening Tour sessions, providing committee members with a better understanding of the CRM needs at K-State.

Based on K-State’s needs, selected vendors demoed their product and provided a technical review. Thank you to the more than 100 people per session who attended in person and online, while also providing feedback through the vendor survey. The data gathered from the survey will play an important role in the final vendor selection.

A project of this scope with numerous resources and a substantial budget requires oversight from the Kansas Information Technology Office (KITO). K-State has submitted all documents to KITO; we have now received KITO approval to plan.

K-State is working through final discussion with the vendors. Vendor selection will be announced in the coming days. Planning is underway now to schedule Town Hall sessions. During the Town Halls sessions, the CRM team will provide details and timelines for the implementation.

Save the date: CRM vendor demo sessions scheduled May 2, May 8

As part of the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Plan, an initiative is underway to select a university-wide Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) solution that will improve the management of student relationships. The new CRM system will be used to foster collaboration to enhance recruitment, enrollment, and student success.

Listening tours were conducted in March and April to gather feedback on the use of current CRM systems and finalize what criteria must be met when selecting a new solution. After careful consideration, the CRM project team has identified three vendors who meet the needs of K-State. CRM Vendor demonstrations are scheduled for May 2 and May 8.

For the demonstrations, the three vendors will use real-life K-State scenarios that include events and communications. During the presentations, each vendor will demonstrate the functionality of a live system from both a student and staff perspective.

For dates and locations of the vendor demos, view the vendor demo page. You will need to sign in with your eID and password to view the information.
