Nov. 16-18: Microsoft Office training

Get up to speed on Office 365. Register and join this week’s training sessions:

Office 365 Aoos

The above sessions will be from 2-3:30 p.m. Registration is required. After you register, a confirmation will be sent to you with a link to the session. The sessions will be held in Microsoft Teams. When you click to join the meeting, you will be taken to a page where you can choose to either join on the web or download the desktop app. If you already have the Teams app, the meeting will open there automatically. HRIS, KSIS, and DARS maintenance scheduled for Nov. 14

HRIS, KSIS, and DARS will be unavailable from midnight – 4 a.m. on Sunday, November 14. Maintenance will be performed on the Oracle PeopleSoft systems. This maintenance will keep the system secure and up to date. Once applied, the systems will be brought back up for your use. Thank you for your patience as we work to maintain our IT systems.

Nov. 19: Tapping Social Media with NCapture and NVivo


“Tapping Social Media Data with NCapture and NVivo” will be offered 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, on Zoom. This presentation provides an overview of the NCapture browser add-on (to Google Chrome) as a tool for extracting information from social media platforms and will explore how the extracted data is analyzed using NVivo 12 Plus / NVivo, a qualitative and mixed methods data analysis tool. (The NVivo for Mac now enables this functionality as well.)

Grade rosters available Nov. 29

Grade rosters will be available in KSIS for grade entry at 10 a.m. Monday, November 29. This is earlier than usual for the fall semester.

Grades for the fall 2021 term are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, for all term courses, including those with final exams given Monday, December 13, through Friday, December 17. Students can view grades for regular courses in KSIS after 8 a.m. Wednesday, December 21.

K-State shred day Nov. 19: Required forms and expectations

Shred Day is scheduled 8:30–11 a.m. Friday, November 19, to properly dispose of university paper records on the Manhattan campus. Please review the university retention schedule to ensure accuracy in sending records for destruction. Further policy information governing records management includes the university’s records retention policy, PPM Chapter 3090.

OrgCentral Transition: New platform now available

OrgCentral is K-State’s online student organization management and student engagement platform. All registered student organizations have a portal page in the system to manage their organization operations. Students can view upcoming events, find ways to get involved and connect with other students using the platform. Watch the introductory video to learn more.

Sign in to OrgCentral

  1. Visit the K-State website.
  2. In the upper-right corner, click Sign In.
  3. Click the OrgCentral link.
  4. Users should use the School Login and type their K-State eID and password to sign in.Note: Only graduate and undergraduate students, organization advisors, and sponsoring department heads have accounts at this time. All other faculty and staff will have accounts established shortly. Keep an eye out to K-State Today for more updates.

Student Organizations

  • Student organization leaders should sign in to verify their groups’ information and transfer any data from their old portal.
  • Organizations will still be able to access their old portal and information on OrgCentral via the CSI website until Friday, December 3.
  • Organization officers, advisors, and members are strongly encouraged to attend the live training session offered via Zoom on Thursday, November 11 at 4:30 p.m.Use Zoom Meeting ID: 763-855-8153.
  • Additional training and navigation resources will be available on the CSI website. Users may also request individual appointments with CSI staff for assistance.

Campus partners  

Campus partners are invited to preview features of the new OrgCentral in a live demonstration on December 2, 2021. Features highlighted will include event management, attendance tracking & reports, tracks and checklists, badges, newsletters, surveys and forms, and approval workflows. 

Be on the lookout for continued announcements and feature highlights in the spring semester, including the launch of the OrgCentral mobile app.

Grading in KSIS training for Fall 2021 now available

Grading in KSIS training is available for faculty and staff who are involved in submitting grades at the end of the fall 2021 term. Training topics include:

  • Transferring grades from Canvas to KSIS
  • Manually entering grades in KSIS
  • Updating grades in KSIS
  • Submitting a Grade Change Request form in KSIS
  • Q&A for grade submission at K-State

All sessions take place Zoom.

  • Monday, Nov. 29, 9-10 a.m.
  • Monday, Dec. 7, 1-2 p.m.

OrgCentral Transition: New OrgCentral platform launches Nov. 8

The new OrgCentral platform will be available Monday, Nov. 8. Organization leaders should sign in to the new OrgCentral to verify your information and transfer data from your old portal. Organizations will still be able to access your old portal and information on OrgCentral via the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) website until Friday, Dec, 3.

Organization officers, advisors, and members are strongly encouraged to attend the live training session from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11. The session will cover managing your group, communications, event and attendance tracking, and more. Use Zoom Meeting ID: 763-855-8153. The session will be recorded.
