K-State’s Enterprise Systems Exploratory Task Force will host three vendor demonstrations in early August on the topic of “What is possible with modern enterprise systems”. The task force will look at options for K-State’s major enterprise systems which support the critical business functions of human capital management, financial management, and student management. “Right now, we are not working to select a specific vendor or product, but instead look at the various options and assess K-State’s readiness to take on such a major effort”, commented Cindy Bontrager, vice president of Administration and Finance.

The following vendors will provide a 90-minute presentation followed by a brief question and answer session:

• Workday – Wed., Aug. 8, 1-3 p.m. Zoom meeting ID: 534-258-432
• Ellucian – Mon., Aug. 13, 1 -3 p.m.
• Oracle Cloud – Tue., Aug. 14, 9-11 a.m.

All presentations will be held in the Wildcat Chambers (formerly the Union Little Theater) in the K-State Student Union.

“While the sessions will be available via Zoom and recorded, we hope that many people will take the opportunity to attend all three sessions in person”, said Gary Pratt, Chief Information Officer.

“The goal of the demos is to help people who work every day in K-State’s systems to understand the advances that have been made in the area of applications known as cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems”, said Rob Caffey, chair of the Enterprise Systems Exploratory Task Force. “The first task is to get people thinking more broadly about what is possible. Then the task force will hold a series of listening tours in the early fall to hear what people think we need, what is working and not working, etc.”

The Enterprise Systems Exploratory Task Force includes 16 professional staff members from across campus and is co-sponsored by Cindy Bontrager (VP for Administration and Finance) Pat Bosco (VP for Student Life), Jay Stephens (VP for Human Capital Services), and Gary Pratt (Chief Information Officer).
