Trend Micro Antivirus campus service migrating to new servers in August

K-State’s centrally administered Trend Micro Antivirus service will begin migrating to a new infrastructure starting Monday, Aug. 5.  During the transition period, computer clients that are attached to one of the central servers will be automatically migrated to a new server.

No user action is required to initiate the migration, but users may get notifications from the Trend Micro client or see changes in the Trend Micro icon on their computers.  Continue reading “Trend Micro Antivirus campus service migrating to new servers in August”

Housing’s “KSU Guest” wi-fi network renamed to “Join KSU Housing”

On Tuesday, July 23, the Housing and Dining Services “KSU Guest” wi-fi network was shut off. It was immediately replaced by a network with the SSID of “Join KSU Housing”, which is also unencrypted.

Master Extract Reporting in iSIS training offered

Training for Master Extract Reporting in iSIS is planned 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, in Fairchild 9. K-State administrative staff employees who run the Master Extract Report can sign up to attend. Registration deadline is 5 p.m. Monday, July 8.

Last chance to sign up for Grading in iSIS

The final Grading in iSIS sessions will be presented Wednesday, May 8, and Thursday, May 9.  The training is for any faculty or staff member who needs to enter grades in iSIS for the Spring 2013 semester. Windows XP and Office 2003 end of support in April 2014

April 8, 2014. This is the date when Microsoft will no longer support Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Office 2003.  This means that after April 8 next year, there will be no new security updates and assisted support options through Microsoft. Running Windows XP SP3 after this date could potentially pose a threat to your computer and be vulnerable to security risks. A “Processing Minors ” training session is now available for K-State employees who approve minors for graduation.  Registration for the training is done through HRIS Self Service.

Check compatibility of software, hardware with Windows 7, 8, and RT operating systems

Microsoft has developed a website where you can check the compatibility of hardware and software with Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows RT operating systems.  Check compatibility at Microsoft’s Windows Compatibility Center.
