Free multimedia equipment checkout for students, faculty, and staff

Free multimedia equipment checkoutK-State students, faculty, and staff can check out multimedia equipment such as laptops, digital camcorders, digital cameras, projectors and more for academic purposes.

Equipment reservations can be made by calling 785-532-4918 or emailing itacrecp@k-state.edu. Equipment can be picked up at 214 Hale Library. A K-State ID is required to verify identity.

How to set up wireless connections for your devices

Do you need to get all your devices connected to the K-State network? K-State has three wireless networks:

  • KSU Wireless –  A secure network for current K-State faculty, staff, and How to setup wireless connections for all your devicesstudents not living in K-State residence halls or Jardine Apartments.
  • KSU Housing – A secure network for current residents of K-State residence halls and Jardine Apartments.
  • KSU Guest – For temporary visitors to campus. This wireless network has no security and cannot access K-State enterprise systems such as K-State Online, WebMail, KSIS, HRIS, and FIS.

Grad students: Get thesis, dissertation help at ETDR walk-in sessions Nov. 13-20

Graduate students who plan to meet the Nov. 20 semester deadline for submitting theses and dissertations can take advantage of the final four Electronic Theses, Dissertations, and Reports (ETDRs) help sessions this semester.

  • Fri, Nov. 13, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., 401B Hale Library
  • Tue, Nov. 17, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., 407 Hale Library
  • Thu, Nov. 19, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., 407 Hale Library
  • Fri, Nov. 20, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., 407 Hale Library

Thesis, dissertation ETDR walk-in workshops Oct. 22-Nov. 20

Graduate students and faculty advisers:  ETDR walk-in workshops are scheduled over the next five weeks to provide faster help on Electronic Theses, Dissertations, and Reports before the Graduate School’s Nov. 20 semester deadline. Check out the new Waters 231 technology classroom renovation

A big project this summer was the complete renovation and remodeling of the Waters 231 technology classroom. With faculty and student input, the Division of Facilities and iTAC have planned and created an updated space for teaching and learning.

Do not install new Mac OS X until compatible TrendMicro is available

Apple will be releasing the new version of OS X,  next week. Information Technology Services (ITS) recommends not installing the new version of OS X until ITS announces a compatible version of TrendMicro antivirus.

Attention. Do not install the new Mac OS XTests of El Capitan indicate:

  • upgrading to the new version of OS X with TrendMicro antivirus installed results in the computer not functioning.
  • installing TrendMicro antivirus on a computer that already has El Capitan installed results in the computer not booting correctly.

Both of these instances will require a technician to resolve the issue. Typically a new version of TrendMicro that is compatible with new versions of OS X are made available by the manufacturer within a few days of the final release of the new version of OS X.
