Deadline Tuesday, Nov. 27, for “Grading in iSIS” Wednesday session

Registration is required by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, for faculty/staff who want to attend the 10:30 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Nov. 28, “Grading in iSIS” training session, in Fairchild 9. Register for the class via the www.as.ksu.edu/HRIS website.

Four “Grading in iSIS” training sessions in next two weeks

“Grading in iSIS” training is available for faculty and staff who submit grades in iSIS for classes.  Registration is required via the www.as.ksu.edu/HRIS website. Topics include:

  • Exporting grades from K-State Online to iSIS
  • Deadlines for submitting grades
  • The grade-submission process
  • A discussion about Academic Related Activity
  • How to change a grade in iSIS after grades have been submitted to the Registrar’s office

All classes are in Fairchild 9.  Available course times are

  • Monday, Nov. 26 – 9:30-11 a.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 28 – 10:30 a.m.-noon
  • Tuesday, Dec. 4 – 10:30 a.m.-noon
  • Thursday, Dec. 6 – 1:30-3 p.m.

iSIS Class Scheduler refresher training

iSIS training for administrators with the Class Scheduler permission is now available.  These classes are specifically for those who have performed the Class Scheduler process in previous semesters.  Training personnel includes Registrar employees involved with the Scheduler updates.  New discussion topics are:

  • The process for instruction delivery methods
  • New codes for Olathe classes
  • Room Scheduling
  • Class Capacity issues
  • Discussion of Class Associations, Instructor/Advisor Tables, Reserved Seating and Variable Title Topics

The following sessions will be held in Fairchild 9:

  • 9:30-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 9,
  • 1:30-3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 18
  • 1:30-3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 25

iSIS Program/Plan training sessions

iSIS Program/Plan training sessions for administrative staff are now available for registration through HRIS Self Service. Training sessions are offered two times this week:

  • 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10
  • 1:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 12.

K-State faculty/staff who will be using the university technology classrooms for the first time this fall must attend a short training session before they can request keys for those classrooms. Once training is completed, instructors can request keys through Facilities Key Control in Dykstra Hall. For more information, see the Technology Classrooms website. IT security training for 2012 now available

State policy requires that all state employees receive annual training in IT security. The 2012 version for K-State is now available and must be completed by all employees, including student employees, by July 31. This year’s training builds on the foundation of last year’s introduction to basic IT security topics. It contains a single module, has no narration and should only take 20-30 minutes to complete.

To take the training, go to the SecureIT training page, login with your eID and password, and click on part 1 of “2012 Secure IT @ K-State Training.”

Training for using K-State’s technology classrooms

K-State faculty/staff who will be using the university technology classrooms for the first time this summer must attend a short training session before they can request keys for those classrooms. Once training is completed, instructors can request keys through Facilities Key Control in Dykstra Hall. For more information, see the Technology Classrooms website.

These one-time training sessions include:

  • An overview of the different kinds of equipment and software available
  • How to turn on and shut off the systems
  • How to properly lock/unlock the classroom and podium
  • Policies and procedures

Instructional technology staff will be available to provide training through the next few weeks and after intersession has begun.
