Students: How to access your courses in K-State Online

During the fall semester, a university upgrade continues to the K-State Online learning management system. K-State Online is a collection of tools that students and instructors use to share course material, watch course videos, do group work, communicate, check grades, take online tests, and submit online homework.

Students may have courses in two systems: K-State Online Classic and K-State Online Canvas. You can easily find your courses during the upgrade by staying “connected” with the Connect dashboard. Continue reading “Students: How to access your courses in K-State Online”

Qualtrics Offline Mobile App for iOS and Android devices

The Qualtrics Offline Mobile App (for iPad, iPhone, and Android tablets and smartphones running Android 4.0 and later) is a new application available for iOS and Android devices, allowing the administration of surveys without an Internet connection. Microsoft makes iOS Office apps free

Green "Office" graphic with Word, Excel, PowerPoint icons (created by iTAC staffer)Microsoft announced that the iOS Office apps will be available for free, without the need of an Office 365 subscription. The apps include mobile versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. To access the editing features, log into the apps with a Microsoft account (Live or Hotmail account), which can be freely created at www.live.com. Previously users would have needed an Office 365 subscription to edit within the iOS Office apps.

Today, Sept. 17, the latest release of Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS 8, will be made available. Last year’s iOS 7 update resulted in a 700 percent increase in worldwide network traffic. Network slowness and outages occurred throughout the world as millions of devices downloaded the one gigabyte update. At K-State, the network has more than enough bandwidth to handle the load.
