First-ever Game Jam event at K-State draws over 60 players

A marathon run of video-game development took place the weekend of Feb. 6-8 in K-State’s Fiedler Hall.  The Invitational Game Jam at K-State was one of the first such events in the state of Kansas.  More than 60 students participated in the team-based competition, with a total of 20 video games produced on a cybersecurity theme.  Continue reading “First-ever Game Jam event at K-State draws over 60 players”

K-Staters invited to annual Big Data conference in KC

The Kansas City area will host its second annual regional big data conference Nov. 12-14, 2014, at the Kansas City Convention Center. The conference organizers would like to invite and encourage increased participation from students, researchers, instructors, and practitioners in academia. Educational technology conference SIDLIT slated July 31-Aug. 1

Office 365 Update

After seven months of planning and testing, we have the entire campus of 57,000 accounts moved to Office 365 for email and calendaring service. Over the weekend Information Technology Services, migrated the final 17,000 student accounts and more than 6,100 faculty and staff email and calendar accounts.

The majority of questions to the IT Help Desk and our Client Services teams have been about configuring mobile devices, downloading the Outlook Client, and assisting users with sharing calendars and folders. Office 365: Introductory videos now available

On Jan. 6, 2014, faculty/staff and student employees will be moved to Office 365, K-State’s new email and calendaring system.
